Happy Earth Day 2025

Happy Earth Day! To celebrate this year, our team partnered with the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board to lead a recent community-based event at Longfellow Park. Neighborhood families gathered at the center to enjoy an environmentally themed movie night, and Young Environmental Consulting Group, LLC was one of the opening acts! We hosted a table and interactive game to share why it’s important to pick up after your pet. 🐕‍🦺

Our volunteer team designed a custom beanbag game that helped kids and their parents learn to toss pet waste bags into the trash rather than leaving it on the grass to enter storm drains. The game helped families see the connection between parks and lawns and our beloved lakes and streams. We also demonstrated how stormwater can help the pet waste enter waterbodies, and the negative impacts it can have on water quality and aquatic life. We were happy to have such productive conversations with the community to share this important message for Earth Day!
