Job Opportunity: Technical Writer/Communication Specialist
Young Environmental Consulting Group, LLC is seeking a Technical Writer / Communications Specialist to support the development of high-quality project documentation, digital marketing content, and client-facing communications. This position plays a vital role in ensuring clear, consistent messaging across technical reports, proposals, and outreach materials. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical writing expertise, marketing acumen, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, edit, and format project reports, proposals, fact sheets, memos, public communications, and technical documentation
Translate complex scientific and regulatory information into accessible language for clients, partners, and the public
Provide proposal support including resume development, project descriptions, QA/QC, formatting, and compliance with RFP requirements
Assist with preparation of digital marketing content for newsletters, websites, email campaigns, and social media platforms
Conduct and summarize market research to inform strategic pursuits, positioning efforts, and client outreach
Collaborate with technical staff to organize and verify source material for both technical and marketing use
Apply and maintain Young Environmental’s brand voice, templates, and formatting standards
Maintain and update content libraries, templates, and project records for marketing and proposal use
Support internal communications and staff engagement efforts as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Science, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in technical writing, communications, or marketing support (experience in the environmental or engineering sector strongly preferred)
Exceptional writing, editing, and formatting skills with attention to detail and consistency
Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, WordPress, Canva, Hootsuite, or similar)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative tools (e.g., OneDrive, SharePoint)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities
Strong research and synthesis skills, particularly in evaluating industry, client, and opportunity trends
Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and engaging with technical staff
